Guild Rules and Guildlines

Guild Rules

1. No coarse joking, abusive language and swearing in open guild chat or vent (whisper, officer chat and private vent channels are used for adult conversations). Please be mindful of the younger age players that may be in the guild.

2. No personal insults (direct or indirect) or name calling to anyone.

3. No racial, religious, political, sexual insults/advances or jokes, degrading remarks or comments to anyone.

4. No judging or discrimination of anyone for their race, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender, or political/personal beliefs.

5. No open guild chat discussions on race, religion, politics or sexual topics. If you want to chat about these things, you must take it to the whisper chat mode, adult designated vent channel or private vent channel. What you chat about is your business, but if it takes place openly within Valhalla - it now becomes our business and our integrity will not be compromised.

6. Do not openly chat (gossip or talk bad) against your guild mates, the guild or it's leaders - if you feel the need to bash your brethren, do it in private please.

7. No ninja activities, swindling or pirating in guild or out of guild PUG or raid groups. If you borrow from someone, you must pay it back. Also no begging! There's a difference between asking for help and begging. Be sure to help others, in the same way you wish to be helped.

8. If your main toon leaves DoV, whether to join another guild or just plain "leave", your remaining "alts" will be removed from the guild.

9. There are many who play several different toons, however, we're known by our "main" toon primarily. Main toons in DoV are the toons that are promoted within the guild, geared first and have primary raid placement.

10. If you wish to change your main, your new main will have to re-qualify for raiding placement, meaning it must be geared up outside the 25 man guild raids until it meets the personal requirements for raiding again. Repeated changing of mains and/or specs is likely to make us think you're only in it for the loot.

11. DoV vent is to be used by "DoV" members only - unless given special permission by Rahammer or Maddalene (note: use for a pug group most likely will always be denied unless you can personally vouch for those who are in your pug group and be responsible for their actions). There is a special section on our vent called "American Heroes" which is used specifically by our guild members to chat with loved ones who may be overseas or away from home due to their commitment to our Armed Forces. Members who wish to use DoV vent to chat with your loved ones serving in the military may use that channel, just contact Rah or Maddie for permission and the password.

12. If you wish to use DoV vent, your login/display information for Ventrilo should include your main character's name or you will be instantly kicked and possibly banned from our vent.

13. If you are running in a group and using DoV vent, and you know that in your group a child or youngster (under 18) is on vent, please refrain from using vulgar language or sexual comments / jokes. If some one whispers you and asked you to please ease up on the "ca-ca mouth" comments, please, like a mature person, honor their request and do so. All of us (IMO) love to joke around and have fun - but be careful, aware and wise when you can and with who you can.

14. If you wish to harbor your alt toons in DoV, you're more than welcome to. If you know that you don't play your alt(s) that often, you may wish to bring them into our "alt" guild - Army of Valhalla, however, you will have to request this while on your main toon and not your alt toon. When making this request, you must contact your main's Class Commander or one of the Hammers to do this.

15. Every member of DoV must register for our guild forum going to www.defendersofvalhalla.com or dov.invisionzone.com. Visit these forums frequently. You must register using your main toon's name or you will not be invited to the forum. If you are having trouble with registering, computer problems, whatever it may be please let your Class Commander know immediately and then let our forum administrator "Nyshera" know so she can assist you.

Players must register for our forums and sign all of our laws within 3 days of administrator approval. If they fail to sign the rules they will either not be invited or gkicked from the guild.

16. We honor and welcome players real life family members and real life good friends into Valhalla, there's nothing like playing this game along side with them in the same guild family. Note - your family or friend must contact their playing class main toon's Class Commander and if not on, Rah or Maddalene for the invitation. Class Commander or Hammer will place a note on the player indicating when they joined and who they are associated with. If you recommend a family or friend to join our guild, we trust that you can vouch for their character and attitude, and that you've informed them of how we conduct ourselves, our gaming "beliefs" and code of conduct in Valhalla.

Guild Bank Rules

The Guild Bank is created to support our players in raiding, pvping and in overall gaming ventures. It is also created so that DoV can continue to re-invest in our people, striving to be fully independent and self supporting, breaking free from AH abuse and making others outside of Valhalla rich. Mind you, the Guild Bank is to "support" not "carry" a player in their gaming endeavors, so please don't request items that you know you can easily get from the game, by just playing the game (farming, questing etc.). If a flask or elixir can help you in your raid or instance run, and we have it, by all means ask for it - however, if you need 10 bars of Thorium to finish creating a piece of gear and you're a miner...well mine the ore for it, and don't request it from the GB. As you are free to use the GB, we ask that you freely help restocking our bank with needed and vital items.

General Items

1. When requesting anything from the Guild Bank, the member must be at the rank of Defender or higher to qualify.

2. When requesting anything from the Guild Bank, the member must ask with their MAIN toon, and address their request to their MAIN'S Class Commander (even if it is for their Alts use).

3. Class Commanders will distribute requested Guild Bank items.

4. Though this is not a requirement: Please contribute to the Guild Bank as you are able to. If you are not able to give useful items to the GB, please readily offer any of your other services (enchants, craft works etc.) for the greater good of the guild. Payment or Donations are not required to receive any general items from the GB (pots, mats, non epic gear etc.) however maintaining of the GB depends on you and if you are just constantly taking and not helping in some way - you may wear out your welcome to the use of the GB.

5. The Hammer or Class Commander reserves the right to refuse items to the requesting member if He or She believes the member is taking advantage of the GB (always taking but never offering to contribute or participate in helping to keep the GB up and running or aiding others in the guild with your trades or services).

6. All items requested by the member are to be used by that member or their in guild Alt. Items will not be used for or by any toon outside of DoV. Items that are requested from the GB by the member will not be used to sell at the AH for the member's benefit or sold to any one outside or inside the guild for their benefit - violation of rule #6 can result in an instant gkick by the Class Commander or Hammer.

7. Only a Hammer, Class Commander or Warlord can sell items from the GB (via AH) to be deposited into DoV's treasury for guild usage (emergency loans, help members who've been hacked, emergency repairs, requested spec changes etc.).

Epic Items

All Epic items (recipes, gems, gear) in the GB can be requested by members of DoV (Defender or higher) via their mains to their CC. Rules for Epic requests are handled a bit differently:

1. DoV members will only be allowed 2 epic gems, recipes, and gear a month (per player not toons) i.e. : Rahammer can ask for 1 gem, 2 recipes and 1 epic sword in one request, if approved, I will be only eligible for 1 gem and 1 epic item yet this month.

2. All epic items only, will be subject to a request for donation (of gold) from the asking member. The member will donate whatever amount he or she can or is willing, whether it be 1gold or 10000. Only the CC's and Hammer will know the amount and they will not judge nor criticize or compare your donations to others or themselves - whatever gold you can give towards the request epic will ultimately be re-invested back into the guild and deposited into the DoV treasury. Give what you can and think is best, keeping in mind its for your clan.

3. Class Commanders and Hammers have the right to deny any requests if they feel that there is abuse by the player or if they've reached their epic limit request.

4. No Epic items will be re-sold to anyone else in our out of guild or re-sold on the AH - if a member is found out to have done this, they will be instantly gkicked. Only people who can sell epic items in AH are the Class Commanders and Hammer, and all proceeds would go to the DoV treasury.

5. No Epic Items will be given to players outside of DoV. Let them get it from their respective guild or AH.

Right of Passage

Because you were in the raid that landed epics in our GB or even being the GM doesn't give special privileges to items; the rules apply to all. Because you are an avid giver and supporter of the guild, its members and the bank does not give you special privileges. Please do not throw it my or any of our CC's faces, boasting of your giving or how much you do for the guild - I can't thank all of you enough for what you do, but I hope you do such things because you want to and not to expect anything in return except to see the good deeds you've done flourish into something special within the guild and game. Do not fret, your deeds don't ever go un-noticed, nor are they not appreciated, nor do they ever return to you void. ../public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif

Code of Conduct During Raids

1. Follow the instructions of the Warlord and Class Commanders - without grumbling or complaining.

2. You must have Vent or you will automatically be booted from the raid. If you don't have a microphone, that's fine, as long as you can hear the issuing of commands.

3. No personal or mindless chatter during the raid. When the raid leader say "Saddle Up" - that means shut up. The raid leader will give you ample time to ask any questions you may have -however after "Saddle Up" is given, that signals to us to keep quiet and be prepared to engage. If you persist to chat after the signal has been given - you will be warned once by Warlord, VK or Class Commander, and if it persists a second time, you will be booted.

4. Loot: Is currently on a "roll if need or if its a significant upgrade" basis. If you've already won an epic in a roll situation in the raid instance, you are not qualified to roll on any further drops in that instance, unless no one wishes to claim the next epic drop, and its something you can use for your toon. Please be mindful if you have an equivalent tier item that has dropped during the instance - please pass on the roll and give in to your guild mates who is lacking in that specific tier gear. When anyone in our clan gets an upgraded gear item - we all win.

5. If you have to go AFK for any reason, you must tell the raid leader and wait for his or her's acknowledgment of your AFK request. If you go AFK without informing the raid leader - you qualify yourself to be boot from the raid.

Guys, we have to become more militant and organized as we move forward in end game runs. This is where we stop playful banter, and become "warriors" or "soldier" in an army, taking orders from officers to complete the mission - unscathed. Team playing is essential and a requirement for this guild - no person is a lone ranger, every person is vital for guild success - and unfortunately if you decided to be the "weak" link in this chain, then you won't be able to participate in the raid. Weak, not meaning if you make in game mistakes - all of us do that (often), no but not following orders is what we're talking about as being the "weak" link and it will not be tolerated ../public/style_emoticons/default/angry.gif . Please play unselfishly, meaning keep yourself control and follow in game directions - and this will greatly benefit the team and yourself - making the game enjoyable in the process.

Guild Ranks and Titles

Your "main" characters, who primarily represent "you", are the only ones who are eligible for promotions in the guild, your "Alt" characters will always be placed in a class of it's own, which is called "Soldier". Your Alt characters will never gain rank until your Main character is promoted to Valhalla Knight - which then all of your Alts will be elevated to "VK Alt" position. The VK Alt position is obviously all of the Valhalla Knights Alt characters in the guild. The following are the ranking positions for your "Main" character (only):

Cadet (Probationary Stage): The beginning stage of Defenders of Valhalla. Here you are getting the feel of being in the fellowship (guild) and we're starting to get to know you as a player and person while you attend guild raids and meetings, you get to know us - building a gaming relationship ../public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

Defender (Member): You are gaining more trust and are serious about being a part of this great fellowship. You now gain access to the guild bank and you are eligible to participate in raids.

High Defender: You play often, your dedication to the guild and it's players are well noticeable. You are well trusted in the guild and your honorable reputation is noted and growing in the fellowship. You are quick to aid your team mates and your constantly thinking of ways to not just advance yourself in WoW, but how to advance your guild and team mates as well. You are even more closely watched, as you are one step away from the rank of Valhalla Knight. ../public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

Valhalla Knight (Elder / Mentor): You are fully committed to the guild; its members and leaders. You have fully embraced the often used term in here "brother" or "sister". You have complete trust from the leadership and your brethren. When things are going sour or a challenge comes, you don't waver, whine or run, but you stay your ground for the sake of the guild, because you believe in this fellowship and what it represents. You have a voice and vote in governing the clan. You may have the highest rank in the guild, but you consider your self to be the "least, the last and a servant to all" and you don't complain about it nor wear your good deeds as a badge of honor, but consider it a privilege to serve. You are a peacemaker, a way maker and protector of the guild, it's laws and integrity. Your reputation in the guild and in all of WoW is that of an honorable, decent and trustworthy player. ../public/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif

Each player is mindful of the authority the Warlord carries in the raid, and the Warlord is aware of such responsibilities.

Warlords (Officer): Fayr
Warlords (Officer): Steth

Class Commanders (Officer): Are in charge of their class (from the highest lvl to the lowest) and keeping their class members accountable to raid attendance, raiding performance and readiness, spec recommendation, and to adhere to the gaming rules and laws of DoV. Class Commanders evaluate each player and monitor their gaming progression fro promotions from probationary status (Cadet) to full member (Defender), and from (Defender) to (High Defender). They will make recommendations to the Valhalla Knight Council for granting advancement to Valhalla Knight (elder). The Hammer Hand (Officer): The Hammer Hand, or "Hand of the Hammer", is the 2nd in command of the entire guild. The Hammer Hand has the same in game powers as the GM (Hammer King). The Hammer Hand is responsible for the enforcement of the decrees from the Hammer King and the Valhalla Knight Council. If there are situations that cannot be resolved by a Commander or Valhalla Knight, the Hammer Hand has the authority to pass final judgment in accordance with the guild laws, codes, and creeds.

The Hammer Hand: Maddalene

The Hammer King (GM):
The Hammer King is the Guild Master of the guild with all encompassing authority.
