Guild Meeting 01/04/09

Hello Valhallans;

January 4th 2009, 8pm server time, on DoV vent - we will be having a guild meeting and everyone is asked to attend. For those of you who are new to DoV, even though we hold the guild meeting on our DoV's vent, we require that everybody bring their "main" toon (wearing DoV's tabard) to a meeting place in game (to be announced the day of the meeting). Please be sure you have read our guild meeting rules located on our forums in the "Guild Rules" section, a be aware of our meeting procedure and how we conduct it. If anyone is ever to be gkicked out of Valhalla, it would be during our guild meeting, because we're pretty stringent about our attendance (don't schedule anything in game during our meeting) and conduct during these meetings - so please be sure to brush up on those policies before you attend. Just to remind everyone - no one is above our rules or laws, that includes the Hammers. So we'll never ask anyone to do anything that the leadership themselves wouldn't do. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact your Class Commander or if need be a VK or Hammer.

I look forward to seeing and sharing with you on Jan 4th 8pm server. Glory and Honor.

Raiding

Valhallans:

We know there are some of us who are very anxious to begin raiding again soon, however we will not start guild sanction raiding until after the holidays, around the second week of January. We as a guild will plan to run 10man raids as a stepping stone towards 25man raid content, so it will be pretty much like last time in B.C. however, with a few tweaks here and there. We will post up soon how the "tweaking" will effect all of us, in game and in raiding.

Standing outside looking in!

An appropriate topic title for those who flagrantly break the laws of Valhalla!

As of late, I've been receiving reports of members from our guild acting...let's say..."not nice" while engaging with others outside of DoV - for example: Doing a /spit or /rude and being out right mean to another player. Listen carefully! I don't give a crap if the player you come across looted your kill, took your node, skinned your beast, stole your quest spot, or pissed on your boot - you are asked to remain civil and mature in every situation. Don't forget that this is just a game and that there's plenty of nodes and everything will respawn! What won't respawn so quickly is your reputation or ours if you elect to act like a childish jag everytime you felt like you were wronged. Not everyone does things on purpose or with malicious intentions, often times its by mistake or you happen to come across kids who just don't know any better or proper gaming etiquette - for pete sake, be the better person and forgiving, because I'm not when it comes to mis-representing me and the guild. Don't rant and rave and /spit or insult the crap out of them, losing your honor and deface the guild's good name - a good name which myself, officers, knights and entire guild as worked so hard to bring up and be recognized as one of the most awesome guilds in Durotan and all of WoW. I can prove this by forwarding every in game mail and e-mail I get from players trying so hard to get into this guild. We reject so many applicants daily, who wish to join this guild...and why do you think they wish to be here? Yes we're raiders - but we're not "hardcore" - its because of our reputation, that some of the finest people in Durotan have been housed in DoV, and they wish to be among them and be a part of something more than just a gaming guild.

Article #2 of Valhallan Law states "No personal insults (direct or indirect) to anyone and no name calling" ......direct or indirect to anyone! If you felt that you've ever been wronged in game by a guild mate or someone outside the guild and the problem is too big for you to handle - follow these instructions:

1. Be sure to screenshot everthing, evidence is powerful and hard to come against.
2. Go to your Class Commander with the problem. They are there to help, defend and repesent you immediately in every circumstance. If your Class Commander is not online at the time, go to a Hammer - (Rah or Maddie) and we will help you right away, if neither your CC or Hammer is online, and the matter needs immediate attention, contact a Valhalla Knight and they will bring it to the officers and council as a whole to collectively help as needed - do this in the exact order as stated.
3. Be calm, don't loose your head, good name and your place in Valhalla over a game....it is game.

My 7 year old daughter can follow this rule, so it is not outside our grasp. Again, the circumstance is not what I care about first...that can always be worked out, its how you were acting in the midst of the circumstance that I do care about first and foremost - the circumstance won't get you kicked out, your attitude will. Remember, when you wear our colors and guild name, you represent all of us, and your actions will reflect upon all of us! If you believe that this policy does not fit in your personal values and you think this law or request is too demanding or outlandish....hit the bricks and find a guild that will agree to your "beliefs".
